and Special Perils Insurance Policy |
Iffco Tokio's Fire and Special
Perils Insurance Policy provides protection
to property against damage resulting from
the following perils:
1. Fire
2. Lightning
3. Explosion/ Implosion
4. Aircraft Damage
5. Impact Damage
6. Bush Fire
7. Riot, Strike and Malicious Damage
8. Storm, Cyclone, Flood, Inundation etc.
9. Subsidence, landslide, Rockslide
10. Missile Testing Operations
11. Bursting and /or Overflowing of Water
Tanks, Apparatus and Pipes
12. Leakage from Automatic Sprinkler Installation
On payment of additional premium, Policy
can be extended to cover among others,
the following perils:
1. Earthquake
2. Terrorism
3. Debris Removal
4. Architects fees
5. Spontaneous Combustion
6. Escalation
7. Loss of Rent
8. Leakage and Contamination
Property which can be covered are:
1. Building
2. Plant , machinery and equipments
3. Goods held in trust or commission
4. Stock in trade ( raw materials, stock
in process, finished goods)
5. Furniture fixtures, fittings and electrical
installations
6. Any other item specifically declared
Different types of Fire Policies are:
Floater Policy provides the coverage of
stock stored at a number of locations
under single Sum Insured.
Declaration Policy provides the coverage
where the value of stock is fluctuating.
Value of the stock is to be declared every
month and the premium is adjusted on the
mean average at the end of the Policy
period
Floater Declaration Policy provides the
coverage where the combination of the
above two preceding covers is required.
The minimum Sum Insured should be Rs.2
crore.
Exclusions
The Policy does not cover:
Gold or silver articles, watches, jewellery,
precious stones, models, coins, curios,
sculptures, manuscripts, plans, medals,
moulds, designs, deeds, bonds, bills of
exchange, cheques, money, securities,
stamps, business books or papers, unless
specifically insured
Loss of earnings, loss by delay or any
other consequential loss.
Pollution or contamination
Loss due to the war and nuclear group
of perils.
First 5% of each and every claim subject
to minimum of Rs.10, 000/- in respect
of each and every loss arising out of
Act of God perils and a flat Rs.10, 000/-
for other losses.
Please note
Immediate notice should be given by you
regarding:
Change in the nature of occupation
If the insured building remains unoccupied
for more than 30 days.
If the interest in the property passes
from you otherwise than by will or operation
of law.
Claims
You should give immediate notice to the
Fire Brigade and Police and also arrange
within 14 days to submit to us the full
details of your claim in respect of loss
or damage sustained.
You should also tender to us and/or the
Surveyor deputed all reasonable information,
assistance and proofs in connection with
any claim.

Claim Form, Books of Accounts
Police Report, Fire Brigade Report
Survey Report
